A concise guide to the various types of bet
Betting is possible thanks to the so-called totalizator, an electronic betting system with acceptance points throughout the racecourse.
Betting Type on horse racing
Winner: 1st
You must indicate the horse which, in your opinion, will win the race. If the winning horse is in a stable relationship (i.e. same ownership) with other horses taking part in the race, bets placed on horses in a stable relationship with the winning horse are also considered winners.
Placed: 1st, 2nd/3rd
You must indicate the first or second place finisher in races with seven or fewer horses, the first, second or third place finisher if there are eight or more horses.
Double: 1st + 2nd
“In order” with 7 or more horses starting – You must indicate the two horses that will be placed in the first 2 positions of the finishing order.
“In order” with 6 or fewer horses starting – You must indicate the two horses that will be placed in the first two positions by specifying the exact order of arrival.
Double pair:
You must indicate the two horses that will place in 2 of the first 3 positions in the order of finish. This bet is placed in races with at least 9 horses.
Trixy: 1st+2nd+3rd
“Round” – You must indicate the horses that will finish first, second and third, regardless of the exact order.
“In order” – You must indicate the horses that will finish first, second and third, specifying the exact order of arrival.
FIXED-ODDS BETTING
Making a fixed-odds bet means knowing in advance the potential winnings. The odds may also change later, but these changes will not affect the bets you have made up to that point.
